Warriors goalie Connor Hopkins made 33 saves but was unable to pick up a Warriors win in a 1-0 loss to the Vernon Vipers Friday night.
Hopkins’ counterpart, Vipers goalie Aiden Porter, stopped all 30 Warriors shots and picked up the shut out.
The Vipers got the lead late in the first period, and went into shutdown mode to control the pace of play and force the Warriors into turnovers, bad shots, and poor passing.
Former Viper and newly acquired Warrior Garrett Worth had his opportunities to score against his old team, but Porter was there to turn his former teammate away.
With the season winding down at the end of February, the Warriors look to make the most of their last 13 games.
The Warriors return to home ice Jan. 20 with a 12 p.m. game against the Prince George Spruce Kings.
