Centennial Christian School competed in 'A' provincials in Kamloops last week

Centennial Christian School senior boys walked away with bronze from the single-A volleyball provincials in Kamloops last week.

The boys won two games and lost two in the pool play, advancing to the quarter final against Fernie Secondary School. They won in four sets, losing the first 21-25, but taking the next three 25-20, 25-16, and 25-21.

Next they faced Vernon Christian in the semi final, losing in three sets (26-24, 25-18, 25-23).

That put them up against St. Ann’s Academy in the bronze medal game.

Centennial claimed the first set 25-14, and lost the second set 20-25, but then went on to take the next two sets 25-16 and 25-21 to earn the provincial bronze. Credo Christian earned gold and Vernon Christian silver overall out of the ‘A’ schools in B.C.

Out of 14 player awards given out, Levi Ewald and Jacob Ringma both earned a first team all star award and Logan Clunas was named a second team all-star.
