The Sunrise Ford Atom Wranglers had their awards banquet on March 5, and all of the players were recognized.
All were chosen by their coaches Pat Sims and Jacob Rickets.
The award recipients were: Kyle Harding, Top Goalie; Ethan Mori, Most Respectful Player; Corey Harding, Most Improved Player; Mathew Keller: Most Sportsmanlike Player; Gibson Fast, Most Versatile Player; Braiden Beharrell, 110% Award; Xander Flett, Most Dedicated Player; Marcus McLelland, Heart & Hustle Award; Riley Campbell, Top Scorer; Nolan Duff, Top Enforcer; Trey Pacheco, Rookie of the Year; and Easton Mills, Most Valuable Player.
The team attended its last tournament in Prince George – the Shane Davis Memorial Atom tournament.
The tournament attracted 20 teams – Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3.
The Sunrise Ford Atom Wranglers played at the Tier 2 level at the request of the Prince George development coaches.
It was definitely a well-suited division for this team, says team spokesperson Kim Mills.
After winning all three games in the round-robin format, the Wranglers lost in a shootout against PG All Points Waste, after one overtime period could not determine a winner.
The Wranglers Most Valuable Players for the tournament were Matthew Keller, Xander Flett, Ethan Mori and Easton Mills.
“It was a great way to end the season,” says Mills.
