Teams qualify for All Native basketball tourney and Terrace runner Tyler Dozzi makes Team Canada

All Native Basketball teams competed in a qualifying tournament in Prince Rupert recently, with the top three ladies and senior men’s teams qualifying for the annual All Native Tournament in February. In the ladies division, New Aiyansh overcame Kitkatla 84-75 to take the tournament, and Massett took third place to qualify. In the senior men’s, Hydaburg took a comfortable 82-58 victory over Kitamaat to win first, and Hazelton took third to also qualify. Running

Terrace runner Tyler Dozzi is fast tracking for national leagues, now on Team Canada for the 2018 Pan American Cross Country Championships next February. Still on the running team at UBC, Dozzi made Team Canada after placing 9th at the U20 nationals in Kingston, Ontario recently. He is one of six runners on the junior men’s team.
