COMOX VALLEY SKATERS Meghan Taylor, Jade Pagenelli and Peyton Meiers distinguished themselves at the BC/YK Skate Canada Sectional Championships.

Three Comox Valley Skating Club members competed at the BC/Yukon Skate Canada Sectional Championships.

The BC/Yukon Champions (Sections) are the qualifying event for the Western Challenge which in turn is the qualifying stage for the Canadian Championships.

In addition to this, the Section Championships also serve to name the Provincial Champions in each category, the “Pond to Podium” Super Series Champions, and the Regional Champions.

For their efforts at this championship event, Peyton Meiers scored a personal best in the Pre-Novice Women’s Short Program, Meghan Taylor recorded personal bests in both the Short Program and Freeskate Program in the Novice Women’s category, and Jade Paganelli was named Vancouver Island Region Champion for Juvenile Women U11.

Several CVSC skaters have one more competition before Christmas. After the Christmas break, in addition to continuing the CANSkate and Power Skate Learn to Skate programs, and ongoing figure skate programs, skaters and other club members will begin preparations for the April 5, 2014 Ice Show.
