Silverbacks acquire D-man

Jordan Burns, ’95 defencemen from Vernon, has been acquired from the Powell River Kings for future considerations

The Silverbacks Junior A Hockey Club has acquired a new player.

Jordan Burns, ’95 defencemen from Vernon, has been acquired from the Powell River Kings for future considerations.

Burns is committed to Alaska-Fairbanks (NCAA Div. 1).

Silverbacks head coach Brandon West remarked: “Jordan is an experienced BCHL defencemen that brings a well-rounded game. I’ve coached Jordan in the past with the Okanagan Rockets (BC Major Midget League) and it’s been great to watch him develop as a player. We’re confident he will have an immediate impact on our team.”

Terrific teddies

This year’s Silverbacks Teddy Bear Toss was another success. The sales of the teddy bears resulted in more than $400 for the Salvation Army and four trucks were filled with bears for needy kids in the community.
