Shoppers golf tourney returns Aug. 27

Registration under way for third annual tournament to benefit Haven Society

To expand upon the Shoppers Drug Mart Love You program, employee Lori White took on a fundraising golf tournament in 2014.

The 18-hole tournament returns for its third edition at Eagle-

crest Golf Club Saturday, Aug. 27, after raising nearly $14,500 for the Haven Society last year.

“I wanted to do more in addition to the Love You program,” said White, who organizes and directs the golf tournament with logistical help from her husband. “It’s a lot of work, but a lot of fun. This year, we hope to raise $19-$20,000, if everything goes well.”

Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. Aug. 27. Cost is $90 per player and includes a cart, prizes and chicken & rib dinner. There will also be a silent auction and a putting contest.

To register in advance or for more information, call White at 250-248-3521 or 250-951-0160.
