Scotties: Tiebreaker and Championship Pool play begins

Another exciting day of action at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Penticton

A big victory for Team B.C. last night propelled them into the Championship Pool with Team Alberta and Team Canada at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Penticton.

With the top four teams in each pool advancing, there will be a tiebreaker game at 9 a.m. today between Ontario’s Hollie Duncan and Newfoundland/Labrador’s Stacie Curtis. Other teams that did not make the top eight will also be competing throughout the day for seeding positions.

A last rock shot kept the hopes of Northern Ontario alive last night as they landed a top four position in their pool to move on to the Championship Pool with Manitoba, Nova Scotia and the Wild Card team, skipped by Kerri Eirnarson.

Championship Pool play will start today with draws at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Who to watch:

At 2 p.m. Team B.C. will face Jennifer Jones and Team Manitoba on Sheet B.

Also playing in the 2 p.m. draw is Team Canada and Nova Scotia on Sheet C, Alberta versus Northern Ontario on Sheet D and the Wild Card team will face the winner of the tiebreaker from this morning.

If you are heading to the 7 p.m. draw Team Canada play Northern Ontario, Alberta versus Nova Scotia, B.C. versus the Wild Card team and Manitoba against the winner of the tiebreaker from this morning.

Where’s the party at?

The HeartStop Lounge will feature live music this evening at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre with Yardkatz on stage at 10:15 p.m.
