After exactly 225 days, Saratoga Speedway opens this weekend for its 47th year of racing. The Hornet cars, Roadrunners, Crash to Pass cars, Figure 8s and the Bomber cars will all make their season debuts this Saturday, all fighting for double points, which will all be capped off by an amazing firework show.
After a month of practising, the ever-growing Hornet car class is ready to take to the track with over 10 new rookie drivers entering the field. With over 40 cars registered last season, this year’s Hornet class is looking to continue that trend.
The fan-favourite Crash to Pass class will also be the card this weekend, with yet another good field of cars entering the action. The Roadrunner class is looking to continue its tight racing in 2015. Last year we saw the championship won on the very last race, and with some new faces entering the class this year, the points race will once again be very competitive.
The Bomber car class is looking to make a rebound in 2015. After a poor car count in 2014, the Bombers are looking to at least double their car count in 2015, with many new and old faces returning to the class. Finally, the Figure 8 class will also be on the card on Saturday, running as a “for fun” class once again this year.
With many exciting weekends on the 2015 schedule, Saratoga Speedway looks forward to seeing everyone at the track this year, for some great family entertainment, and we will see you all this weekend for the debut of the 2015 season.
