Two members of the Langley Rivermen have been selected to play in the Canadian Junior Hockey League Prospects Game.
Goaltender Bo Didur and forward Marcus Vela will represent Team West against Team East. The game will be played Jan. 20 in Oakville, Ont.
Vela — who represented Canada West at last month’s World Junior A Challenge — has five goals and 27 points in 31 games. He is committed to New Hampshire for the 2016/17 NCAA hockey season.
Didur is 13-10 on the season with a 2.69 goals against average and a .921 save percentage, ranking sixth and fourth, respectively, in the BCHL in those two statistics.
Also attending the game will be former Rivermen forward Darien Craighead, who now plays for the Cowichan Valley Capitals. Craighead has eight goals and 24 points in 25 games.
A dozen of the 20 Team West players are from the BCHL. The other eight are from the Alberta Junior Hockey League, the Manitoba Junior Hockey League and the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League.
