Top woman

The second stop of the US Super Tour was held in Bozeman, Montana on the weekend in unseasonably warm temperatures. In the 1.5-km Classic Sprint time trial, Salmon Arm’s Alysson Marshall was second by .53 seconds in a field of 67. She came fifth in the finals after being blocked by a Russian skier and then running out of steam in the slush. She was top Canadian woman in both the time trial and finals.

The next day was the 10-km classic event. Icy conditions caused the race start to be delayed twice. When the race finally began, it suddenly warmed up and her wax no longer worked. She came 14 out of a field of 54, top Canadian women. Next stop is Rossland for the first of the Haywood NorAm series.
