Nelson Leafs lose to Nitehawks on last-minute goal

The game was played to finish a postponed contest in December

A goal in the final minute of regulation sunk the Nelson Leafs in a 4-3 road loss to the Beaver Valley Nitehawks on Sunday.

Morgan Peace’s second goal of the game with 58 seconds left on the clock gave the Nitehawks their second win in three days over the Leafs.

Sawyer Hunt, Keenan Crossman and Ryan Cooper each had goals for the Leafs (27-8-3), while Josh Williams stopped 26 shots.

Nolan Percival and Sam Swanson also had goals for Beaver Valley (23-13-3), with Liam Coulter making 33 saves.

The game was initially played Dec. 29, but a power outage forced it to be delayed to Sunday.

Nelson is away next weekend on a two-game road trip before returning home Feb. 2 against the Columbia Valley Rockies.
