Mustangs tennis takes five at Valley championship

The Maggie Mustangs tennis team saw big improvements from its first-year players

The Maggie Mustangs tennis team placed fifth in the Okanagan Valley championship May 11.  The doubles team of Nikhil Mohan and Bishal Khatri won most of their doubles matches this season and went undefeated at the Valley Championships.

“This year’s team featured a number of first year players who improved significantly as the season progressed,” said Mustangs coach Jim Kocsis.

The Mustangs started the season with 30 players and trimmed down to 16 for exhibition matches leading to the Valley championship. The Valley was won by South Kamloops, who will be joined at the provincial championships in Burnaby May 26-28 by Summerland Secondary and Immaculata.
