Mosquitos earn Most Sportsmanlike award

Comox Valley baseball squad plays some close games at Chemainus tournament

Some of the players from the Comox Valley Mosquito Baseball division went down to the ninth annual Hopwo Invitational Tournament in Chemainus on the June 1 weekend to play in a tournament.

It was a first for most of the players. They played four games that were all close with a couple being nail biters. The boys won the trophy for Most Sportsmanlike Team.

“Thanks to coach Robert Mulrooney and Jeff Pilon and to the many parents and fans that attended who cheered us on,” a team spokesperson said.
