Mission Roadrunners win volleyball tournament

Roadrunners senior girls excel at Peace Arch City News Classic

The Mission Roadrunners senior girls volleyball team keeps on winning, and that continued in South Surrey over the weekend.

The club won the annual Peace Arch City News Classic, which occurred at Semiahmoo Secondary, and beat the host Totems in three sets to capture the top spot.

Roadrunners player Delaney Spink was named MVP of the tournament while Mo Likness was named as an all-star.

The strong showing at the tournament continues the club’s winning trend, as they remain in first place in the Valley East League with a perfect record of 9-0.

The girls hosted the number-one-ranked Little Flower Academy on Thursday for the annual senior night, but results were not available at press time.

Mission then hosts the Eastern Vally AAAA girls championships from Nov. 12 to 14. It’s the final stop for teams before the provincials later this month.
