Longhorn cruise past Rosters

The Graymonk/Longhorn Pub Impact stopped Rosters Sports Club 6-1 Tuesday night.

The Graymonk/Longhorn Pub Impact stopped Rosters Sports Club 6-1 in North Okanagan Women’s Soccer Association Masters Division play Tuesday night at Marshall field #3.

Heather Findlay caromed one off the crossbar, and Suzie McGuigan picked up the rebound and made a few nice moves around some defenders before sending it home for the Longhorn’s first goal.

Dawn Heiss tapped it the Impact’s second goal from a surgical cross in the box from Dawn Lemiski.

Lemiski was in the holiday spirit as she sent a gift up to Christine Fraser for a lob shot goal. Edeen Ramsey bolted up the right side and found an open Alicia McCreary for the chip in from 18 yards.

McGuigan’s second of the night came from Ramsey, while McGuigan’s corner found the head of Suzie Andrews and then the back of the net.

Vel Beaumont and Derri Ann Cooper split the duties in net for the Impact (5-1-2), Rosters fell to 1-7.

Dr. Lee denies Salmon Arm

Dr. Lee Dental/Squires Four Pub blanked the  Shuswap Merlot 6-0 in Salmon Arm.

Browns Social House Lady of the Match Jacquie Hansen pulled the hat trick and recorded two helpers for Dr. Lee (7-0-1), while Deanna Baker sniped two goals, Lori Shippy added a single and Lisa Arrotta booked the shutout. Salmon Arm dipped  to 0-6-1.

Goplen drills the Sistas

The Goplen Drillers edged the Okanagan Seasons Sistas 4-1 at Marshall #2.

Tammy Buick won a loose ball battle, then upped it to Diane Neudorf who beat the last defender and undressed Drillers’ keeper Shawn Nickoli to tie it 1-1.

The Drillers improved to 3-2-3 and the Sistas slipped to 3-5.

Kemper’s hatty carries Chick Kickers

The Chick Kickers booted the Controllers 6-1 at Marshall #5.

The Chick Kickers (6-1-1) came out flying with four goals in the first half with second place was on the line.

Jen Kemper continued her strong play in the center midfield as she scored three times in the first half, and Jenny Garnett added the fourth.

The Chick Kickers were down to nine players to start the second half after all-star keeper Crystal Bergman re-injured both ankles and had to pull herself out of the game.

The Kickers held off the surging Controllers (5-2-1) with two more snipes.

Mel Jacobs buried a great cross from Tanya Sladen and Shauna Duncan sniped her first of the year with a scorcher from outside the 18.

The player of the game for the Chicks went to Kelly Challen, who ran miles after moving to the back line in the second half. She didn’t allow the Controllers any space.

Michelle Mercer got the Controllers on the board as she pounced on a rebound from Mandy Frederick.

Celtics play even with Little Tex

The NET Celtics battled Little Tex Outlaws to a 1-1 draw in Division 1 play at Marshall #1.

The Celtics (1-2-5) and Little Tex (0-3-4) have combined for nine draws this season. The Celtics controlled much of the play early, but got burned when Helena Kemper stole the ball and dished it to Kira Lee, who bombed one from 30 yards over the head of Celtic keeper Charmaine Biagoni.

NET answered back shortly after when Samantha Adam pounced on a loose ball outside of the 18, as she curled the ball up and over Little Tex keeper Samedi Bouchard, with her left foot. Lightning forced an early end to the match.
