Local players at Tanoa Bowl

Provincial football teams selected to play Sunday in Washington

Football BC has included 11 local players on the rosters of two provincial teams which will compete at the Tanoa Bowl Classic in Auburn, Washington Dec. 28.

A Grade 8 team and a U18 squad will represent British Columbia in Auburn.

On the U18 roster are defensive back Sam Malana and running back David Lagou of North Surrey Minor Football, and linebacker Caleb Abraham of the Lord Tweedsmuir Panthers high school team.

Players from North Surrey Minor Football selected to the Grade 8 team included running backs Jello Juatco, Antonio Pamintuan and Jesse Goedman, linebacker Jordan Kellins, receiver Christopher Martin, quarterback Kaiden Lilley, defensive lineman Saahil Bhambra and offensive lineman Paul Connor.

Juatco also plays high school football with the Holy Cross Crusaders, while Pamintuan and Martin played with the Seaquam Seahawks.

The Grade 8 team will play the North West Cougars, while the U18 group will face Washington Vasa.
