Learn to ski and snowboard for free

Program provides opportunity for youth who have never tried both sports before

Mount Washington Alpine Resort will be offering free learn to ski and snowboard packages during the Resort’s Discovery Days program, Dec.8-20.

Available to guests 13 years and over who have never skied or snowboarded before, the program includes a two-hour discovery lesson, equipment rental, and Easy-Acres lift ticket, completely free.

Mount Washington is not a novice when it comes to making snow sports accessible to beginners. By creating innovative programs like the Rookie Year and the six-year-old ski free program, the resort has positioned itself as a leader in the ski industry, well known for innovative ease-of-access snow sports programs.

“Discovery Days are all about removing barriers and providing a fun snow experience,” said Mike Manara, director of sports and guest services at Mount Washington. “Our goal for the free lesson package is to introduce the skiing lifestyle to beginners. We guarantee by the end of the lesson that you will go left, right and stop. If you need extra time to achieve that, we invite you to come back for another free lesson.”

New ski enthusiasts who have completed the first lesson will be eligible to continue to finish the Learn to Turn program, which gives participants two additional, all-mountain lessons with rental and lift ticket for 76 per cent off. If completed by January 31, bonus offers are available with a full Rossignol gear package at 60 per cent off, afternoon group lessons for 50 per cent off and an alpine season pass at a 90 per cent savings, good for unlimited skiing or riding for the rest of the 2017-18 winter season.
