“We leave for Nanaimo out of Cranbrook on the 16th,” Coach Yuro Ihns told the Castlegar News before the squad’s departure.

There are eight zones in the summer games, and you compete in two pools of four teams.  The Kootenay boys U12 soccer crew is in a pool with the Thompson-Okanagan, Vancouver Island and Fraser River-Delta.  Depending on how they do in their round robin games will determine who they play and for which position.  If they make it, the final is at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday the 20th.

There are 14 kids going to Nanaimo, and 2 are alternates.  This is a recent photo of the team, missing only Matt Erickson (from Nelson).
