The Nelson Leafs’ six-game winning streak came to an end Saturday night.

The Dynamiters scored three goals in the second period en route to a 4-2 victory against Nelson in Kimberley.

Matt Davies, Nolan Kurylo and Lucas Purdy each scored in the middle frame for Kimberley (23-8-0), while Franco Colapaolo added another in the third. The win was Kimberley’s sixth straight and moved them two points behind league-leading Creston Valley.

Sawyer Hunt and Logan Wullum replied for the Leafs (15-15-2).

Cody Campbell made 31 saves in net for Kimberley, while Nelson’s Billy Gorn also stopped 31 shots in his second straight night of work after a win in Spokane.

The Leafs now take a holiday break before returning to action Dec. 30 in Grand Forks.
