Westshore rugby has the premier women Valkyries hosting Burnaby Lake at 11:30 a.m. this Saturday (March25) at the Juan de Fuca fields in Colwood. The Westshore 2 men follow, when they take on Castaway Wanderers 3 at 1 p.m. in Island league play.
The Victoria Grizzlies have gone head-to-head with the Powell River Kings in B.C. Hockey League second-round playoff action this week. The series is tied 2-2, with Game 5 scheduled for tonight (March 23) in Colwood. If needed, Game 6 will go March 25 in Powell River and Game 7 would be back at The Q Centre at 7 p.m. next Monday.

The Victoria Shamrocks have announced the first-ever Lacrosse Hot Stove fundraiser event, set to happen Tuesday, April 18 at the Metropolitan Grill at the Four Points Sheraton. Shamrocks alumni and players will take to the stage to tell stories from their lacrosse careers, and answer questions from fans in attendance.
Current Shamrocks on stage will be Rhys Duch, Corey Small and Tyler Burton, joined by alumni Kevin Alexander and Grant Hamilton. Veteran radio personality and lacrosse fan Steve Duffy and Shamrocks alumnus and play-by-play voice Teddy Jenner will host the evening. Tickets are $50 and include admission, dinner and a beverage. Registration is also open for Ryder Hesjedal’s Tour de Victoria, scheduled for Aug. 20. This mass participation cycling event follows a route through much of the West Shore and is produced by the Ryder’s Cycling Society of Canada, a non-profit promoting cycling across the country.
