Indoor softball camp set for weekend

Oceanside Softball welcomes national team coaches to March 25-26 camp at Arbutus Meadows

National team coaches will lend a hand this weekend when Oceanside Softball hosts its annual Spring Indoor Softball Camp at Arbutus Meadows Saturday and Sunday.

The camp features components for player, coach and parent development, with the focus of the player camp on developing new skills and getting players ready for the upcoming season.

Dave Paetkau Hitting/Outfield coach for the Canadian Women’s National Team will be running the Hitting Clinics; Rob Geunter from the national program will be running the pitching clinics; and Dallas Flynn, former Simon Fraser University back catcher, will be doing the back catching clinics.

The camp will also include infielding and outfielding sessions for players, and Learn to Play will be offered to players new to the game each day.

Other clinics include a youth softball mental training series for players, coaches and parents; a Softball BC coaching course Competition Intro Level 2 and a scorekeeping seminar for parents.
