High school senior boys basketball returns to the court with the Belmont Bulldogs heading to Claremont for a Div. 1 game Tuesday, Jan. 24 at 6 p.m. The Div. 2 boys have a break in the schedule, then Royal Bay hosts Mt. Doug for a 7:30 p.m. tilt Tuesday, Jan. 31.
On the senior girls’ side, next Tuesday, takes the Royal Bay Ravens to St. Margaret’s for a 4:45 p.m. start. Belmont next sees league play Jan. 31 when they host Stelly’s at 5:45 p.m.
In Junior B hockey action, the Westshore Wolves start the week on the road against the Comox Valley Glacier Kings on Saturday (Jan. 21). The Wolves host the South Division-leading Victoria Cougars next Wednesday for a 7 p.m. face-off at The Q Centre. The Wolves play a rare Saturday home game Jan. 28 when they host Saanich at 6:30 p.m.
The Victoria Grizzlies play three of their last four January BCHL games on the road. The Grizzlies take on Cowichan Valley tonight in Duncan, then face the Alberni Valley Bulldogs Wednesday, Jan. 25.
Returning home, Friday, Jan. 27, the Grizz host West Kelowna at The Q Centre, with the puck dropping at 7 p.m.
Senior rugby returns to West Shore Parks and Recreation this week when Westshore 1 hosts Port Alberni at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 21. Westshore 2 opens up by hosting Comox at 1 p.m.
Turning to Div. 2 men’s soccer, Westcastle United takes on Lakehill United on Saturday (Jan. 21) at Braefoot Park in Saanich. Kick-off is at 6 p.m.
On the women’s pitch, Friday night brings the Div. 1 Juan de Fuca FC to play Vic West FC at Finlayson Turf for a 6 p.m. kick-off. JdF FC returns to the turf on Sunday for a noon start against fellow Div. 1 team Juan De Fuca United. Kick-off is at noon at Westhills Stadium.
