Floor hockey fundraiser for KidSport on Sunday

Family fun as C.V. Jets take on JetFM Jets at Comox Rec Centre

It will be a high-flying affair when the Comox Valley Jets take on the 98.9 JetFM Jets in a floor hockey fundraiser for KidSport Comox Valley.

The teams invite everyone to join them this Sunday, June 3 from 1-3 p.m. at the Comox Recreation Centre gym for some family fun. The game will start at 2 p.m., and there are plenty of other activities to help support KidSport Comox Valley, which provides funding to help children participate in sports they otherwise cannot afford to play.

The Comox Valley Jets play in the Comox Valley Comox Valley Sports and Social Club Fall and Winter Floor Hockey League, and team member Melissa Rollin notes there will be:

• Hot dogs and veggie dogs with drinks on sale from 1-3 p.m.

• 50/50 draw with $2 tickets or three for $5 with

space to write your name and number on the back, so that you do not have to be present for the draw that will take place after the game

• A $2 shoot-out competition immediately after the hockey game to test your skills againts the goalies for a chance to win a $50

gift certificate from the Black Fin Pub in Comox (players may take part as well)

• A floor hockey game that is free to watch from 2-3 p.m.

• KidSport will have an information booth to tell you all about what they do and selling Cookies for Kids.

KidSport believes that no kid should be left on the sidelines and all should be given the opportunity to experience the positive benefits of organized sports. KidSport provides support to children in order to

remove financial barriers that prevent them from playing organized sport.

“We do understand that not everyone will be able to

make it out this Sunday though we do hope you will have the time to explore

KidSport Comox Valley website to find out more about them, how you can help

out/volunteer, and/or even to donate: http://www.kidsportcomox.ca/,”

Rollin said.
