Comox Valley United VISL teams both lose 3-1

Comox Valley United’s two Vancouver Island Soccer League teams both suffered 3-1 losses this past weekend.

On Saturday, Nov. 12 at Vanier Turf Field, Div. 1 United fell 3-1 to Gorge FC. Gabby Mason netted the United goal and Tom Butcher was team MVP. Brady Neill, Dominic Colantonio and Jon Shah scored the Gorge goals.

Still looking for their first win of the season, 10th-place United (0-7-2) is home again this Saturday, Nov. 19 when they host sixth-place VI Wave (4-4-0) in a 6 p.m. start at Vanier Turf Field.

On Sunday, Nov. 13 in Victoria, Div. 3B United dropped a 3-1 decision to Fernwood Town. Adam Nash scored for the visitors and Jon Schmidt was team MVP.

Kay Otani, Nicolas Graham and Nicholas Poole had the Fernwood goals.

In their inaugural VISL season, fourth-place United (3-6-1) will be looking to snap a two-game losing steak this Saturday, Nov. 19 when they visit sixth-place Saanich Fusion (0-5-4).
