The Chilly Wackers tested themselves against a team of former National Hockey League greats Saturday night at the Chilliwack Coliseum, falling 12-7.

The Chilly Wackers are a group of local skaters coming together to support the Chilliwack Society for Community Living, and this is the third NHL alumni group they’ve taken on, following the Boston Bruins in 2019 and the Montreal Canadiens in 2018.

This was the first time the Maple Leaf alums came to B.C., and they did so as part of the ‘Inclusion Cup,’ a three-game charitable hockey tour meant to support community inclusion.

The Leafs also made stops in Victoria and Port Alberni last week.

Just under 2,300 fans filled the stands for the Chilliwack event, which produced a winning 50/50 ticket worth a record-breaking $2,872.
