Chaos reigns at provincials

An early two-run hole was no problem for the Langley Chaos.

Stephanie Digness erased the deficit with one swing of the bat, belting a three-run home run. And from that point on, the Chaos were in complete control, downing the Abbotsford Bandits 17-7.

The teams were playing in the bantam C fastball provincial title game over the weekend in Chilliwack.

Taylor Glass provided solid pitching after the Chaos took the lead, and then Rachelle Folk closed things out.

The Chaos were undefeated through the tournament, going 4-0 in round robin play.

They overcame a shaky start in the first game, rallying for a 10-9 win over Sooke. And after that, Langley cruised with an 8-0 win over North Delta, 11-1 over North Shore and 11-0 over Port Moody.

In the playoff round, they beat Chilliwack 12-3, won 14-1 over West Kootenay, and tamed the Parksville Rage 9-1.

The gold medal at provincials capped off an amazing season for the Chaos, who won six tournaments and finished second twice. They had an overall record of 46-4 in league and tournament play.
