Busy season so far for Penticton Lawn Bowling Club

It has been a busy season for the Penticton Lawn Bowling Club, who had members return home from a provincial tournament with medals around their necks.

It has been a busy season for the Penticton Lawn Bowling Club, who had members return home from a provincial tournament with medals around their necks.

Jack Byron, Terry O’Riordon and Larry Bechard won the bronze medal at the B.C. Provincial Triples Lawn Bowling Tournament, held in Kamloops last weekend.

The Penticton Lawn Bowling Club held a women’s pairs tournament from June 6 to 8 with Bev Bechard and Marianne Beaulac taking first place. Finishing in second was Maggie Delgado and Bev Marling and in third place was Myrna McLaren and Lil Blashko.

The men’s pairs tournament (June 4 to 8) was won by Kevin Barry and Clem Beaulac. Second place went to Gary Marling and Ron Crawford. The team of Terry O’Riordan and Jack Byron took third place.

The club’s first tournament took place on June 1 and 2, with the triples team of Kevin Barry, Brad Edwards and Jan Cornett-Ching taking the top spot. Gary Marling, Bev Marling and Ron Delgado came in second place and the trio of Maggie Delgado, Joan Bliss and Marjorie Owen finished in third place.
