Nelson won bronze at the Okanagan Ice Breaker tournament, held March 25 to 27 in Lake Country and Kelowna. Andreas Rentke scored a hat trick – two of which came on penalty kicks – as the Selects beat the Prince George Timberwolves 3-2 to secure the medal.

The Selects lost just once in regulation, a 6-1 result against the Kelowna United Saints in the tournament opener. Nelson went on to defeat Vernon United 2-1, beat Prince George 2-1 on penalty kicks and down the Kelowna United Warriors 2-1 again on penalties.

Goalkeeper Mason Scott was named Nelson’s tournament MVP.
