Barriere Slowpitch

Barriere Slowpitch is pulling out all the stops to try and get their league up and running this year.

An open meeting for anyone interested in playing SlowPitch, putting in a team, or who has questions or comments will be held on March 12, 7 p.m., at the Station House Restaurant.

In order to have a Barriere Slowpitch League this year, we need to have at least six teams.  We are strongly encouraging everyone who can, to come to the meeting so we have a chance at seeing if we will have enough people interested to get this going!

If you can’t make it to the meeting, but have questions, want to play, or put in a team, please contact Amanda Carrington at 672-0212, or Donna Genier at 672-9606.

You can also go to our Facebook page: Barriere Slowpitch League.

We are open to all ideas, comments and opinions on how to make this League a go this year.

We have been throwing around ideas, such as playing two to three times a week,  and possibly holding an icebreaker tournament, as well as a wind-up tournament.

Depending on the weather, we are looking at this league running eight weeks, April 22 to June 16 (dates are not confirmed and may be subject to change).

Relative to the turnout of the March 12 meeting, there will then be a coaches meeting on April 17, where coaches will be given game schedules, and registration and fees must be paid.

We also encourage teams to ask local businesses to sponsor them; a good way to get the community more involved. Teams must consist of at least 10 players (three of which must be female).
