The Bantam Rep Wranglers sponsored by Napa Auto Parts had two league games against Winfield this past weekend at the South Cariboo Rec Centre.

The Wranglers opened up the scoring with a goal from Colton-Huber Hopkins and an assist from Aidan Moore. Then the Bruins got one on the board. The Wranglers continued to put the pressure on and Virgil Kennedy found the back of the net with a superb pass from Hopkins. To end the first-period Kyson Hopson sniped one past the goalie with a sweet pass from Colton Sanford.

Going into the third saw Winfield get one more goal. Then on a two-on-one breakaway, Hopson scored with an awesome pass from Cole Allan. Then with only five seconds left on the clock, Kennedy potted another goal off a sweet pass from Hopson. Goalie Joey Isaac continued to make some great saves as the Winfield team never led up. The Bruins got one more in the third. The 100 Mile team was able to seal the win with Hopkins’ second goal of the game with a smart pass from defenceman Mary Isaac. The Bantam Rep Wranglers won 6-3.

On Sunday, the Wranglers had their second game against the Winfield Bruins. The Bruins wanted payback and came out strong and scored three goals in the first. The Wranglers continued to work hard and then Moore hit the net with an assist from Hopson. Then Brayden Meyers-Brundage made an awesome pass to Hopson for 100 Mile’s second goal. The Bruins got another to end the second period.

Halfway through the third Winfield scored. The 100 Mile team was down 5-2, but the Wranglers didn’t give up. Goaltender Ryan Chamberlain seemed to have found his groove making some great saves. Then Hopkins slid one by the goalie with an assist going to Hopson. With four minutes on the clock Hannah Duff kept digging at the pick and scored the fourth goal with a pass from Hopson. The Wranglers were down by one and kept working hard but ran out of time. The final was 5-4 for Winfield.
