Alberni golf: Men’s golf snowed out

The definitive word from the man on the scene at Alberni Golf.

April 1, 9 a.m. was no April Fools joke.

That really was snow all over the golf course.  That was the first time in memory that a men’s club event has been snowed out.

Providing there is no snow the next event for the Men’s Club is the Westwind Pub partner with a pro competition.

When you arrive at the clubhouse on Sunday morning, you pick a number out of a hat. That number represents a pro playing in the masters tournament and he will be your partner for the day.

Your net score added to the pro’s gross is the score you will enter in our event.  It doesn’t matter what the pro has scored earlier, only what he shoots on Sunday.   He could be at the bottom of the pack going into Sunday and shoot a spectacular final round as your partner.

This is an individual event.  Be sure to register in your regular foursome or as a single and you will be placed in a foursome.  Don’t forget to register in the pro shop by 8 a.m. Saturday.

Book your own tee times starting at 8 a.m. Sunday.  Entry fee is the usual $10.  Don’t forget to register for the money pot and the charity closest to the pin competitions for $2 each.
