Traffic would not affect light rail

Travel times would be consistent, even if there are accidents on the road.

I would like to comment on what Daryl Dela Cruz said in Friday’s (May 22) paper about LRT and SkyTrain.

So he claims a SkyTrain to Langley and rapid transit buses for all other corridors is best, saying “Light rail on King George would be only one minute faster than the existing 96 B-line express to Newton.”

That must be the dumbest thing I’ve heard about this subject. For one thing I’ve been on that bus when an accident has happened and it takes almost an hour to get from King George station to Newton.

The LRT has zero traffic so it doesn’t matter if there’s 10 accidents a day it will always take roughly 15 minutes to go from King George to Newton.
