Protect our trees

Anyone with half a brain knows once the chainsaw has sliced through the tree, you can’t put it back.

If I could make a suggestion regarding the cutting of trees on development property: Why not allow such cutting only when a bylaw officer is  present?

The developer must know when his tree cutters have been booked so let city hall know as well.

If the bylaw officer could count to 39, in the case of the lots on 144 Street, that would help.

Anyone with half a brain knows once the chainsaw has sliced through the tree, you can’t put it back – and if money is not the issue, only profit, then the fines for the developer are just the cost of getting what you wanted.

I would also suggest that a hotline number be posted so that those who live near a proposed development can call in the fact that the trees are coming down.
