The South Surrey White Rock Learning Centre would like to thank the South Surrey Rotary for their ongoing support with our school.

Each year, this Rotary supports our program and helps make it possible for us to offer engaging learning opportunities for our students.

Last spring, the Rotary provided us with the tools, resources and community connections needed to develop and implement our Community Cohort. Under the direction of teacher Rory Brown, this cohort connected students to the local community.

The class repaired bikes with The Bike Zone, donated bikes to community members, built a park fence with the City of Surrey, completed inquiry based wood projects, and produced beautiful carvings with the direction of Herb Latreille.

The goal behind each activity was to provide students the opportunity to explore life beyond themselves by giving back to their community.

The Community Cohort will run again this spring.

On behalf of the South Surrey White Rock Learning Centre staff, thank you, South Surrey Rotary, for your continued support.
