To the editor,
We seem to be wringing our hands and scratching our collective heads wondering why we are seeing an epidemic of drug addiction and overdoses and seem outraged at the latest revelations of sex scandals.
We now have a generation that believes Darwin was right and God does not exist and appropriate sexual conduct can be learned on the Internet courtesy of every flavour of perversion one can imagine.
We are told, that life has no real meaning and can be terminated at any time should the mother think her interests trump the baby’s. We have a medical community, once sworn to do no harm, who will knowingly engage in infanticide on a regular basis.
We wonder why many members of society simply see no point in continuing down a hopeless path that ends in a cold grave. Little wonder the stupor and temporary euphoria offered by a host of drugs seems like an acceptable way to dull the senses. After all, the reality of living a hopeless, pointless life has little appeal.
The knowledge of God is the only antidote for hopelessness. Unfortunately He has fallen from favour in Canada.
