It takes a supportive community to forge a healthy community, and a recent event for local seniors was an example that Parksville has both. Thanks to community support, more than 100 local seniors were able to enjoy a traditional turkey lunch with all the trimmings at no cost, during the annual SOS Seniors Are Talking Christmas Luncheon.
The buffet lunch and deluxe dessert spread was prepared by Spice of Life, and Sugar and Spice band provided live entertainment. Seniors also took home a number of wonderful prizes including gift certificates, movie tickets and skin products. I’d like to thank Parksville Pharmasave, Save On Foods, Smitty’s, Parksville Community & Conference Centre, The Pie Factory, S&S Body and Paint, Home Hardware and Thrifty Foods for helping make this event special for our seniors, and for our community’s continued support of the SOS Thrift Shop which provides funding for programs like this.
