LETTER: NDP reps lacking accomplishments

Wayne Stetski hasn't earned his pay as MP, writes Jim Demers

Last week I received a political flyer in the mail. On the face side it warned darkly that the Conservatives were the enemy of the people on health care, etc., etc. On the back it had more of the same and then at the bottom it asked for an NDP vote. Not one word about what they stood for or would do if elected.

I’ve thought about this a bit and I think I understand why.

The NDP have been elected in our area, both federally and provincially since the last elections. And what have they accomplished? Wayne Stetski is proud that he got a national food day for Canada (whatever that is) and Michelle Mungall was recently seen proudly holding a shovel to announce the building of some subsidized apartments by the aquatic center. (So those of us who can barely hold on to our homes as it is, can contribute by way of taxes to someone else’s home.)

We paid Mr. Stetski over $1 million in the last four years. For a food day? (On top of his almost $200,000 MP salary he also collects a substantial provincial pension. No wonder he always has such a lovely smile!)

On top of that if he is re-elected he will be eligible for a gold plated pension us tax burdened peasants can only dream of.

It might only be me, but I don’t think we got our money’s worth from the NDP reps. And they have the nerve to slag other political parties?
