LETTER: Horgan should research before announcing

To the editor,

On Tuesday, Nov. 21, the governor of Washington state, Jay Inslee, was in the B.C. legislature talking to B.C. MLA’s about a proposal to bring high speed rail service between Vancouver and Seattle. B.C.’s premier John Horgan, in response to the suggestion, said that stopping at the border for border custom checks would defeat the purpose of high speed rail. Presently, Amtrak has rail service between Vancouver and Seattle and passengers clear customs in Vancouver before boarding the train to Seattle, and clear customs in Seattle before boarding to Vancouver. This proves that John Horgan, constantly 24/7 shoots from the hip without ever doing any research on a topic before making public announcements. A major embarrassment to B.C. taxpayers.
