I have never written a letter to the editor before, but believe this needs to be addressed.
We had two appointments at Costco stores last Thursday – one in Langley to pick up a photo wrap, the other with the hearing aid department in Abbotsford. Both stores were very busy, masks were given to everyone going into the stores at the door if they were not already wearing one, even to trades entering to do repairs and all staff in both stores wore masks.
Imagine my shock upon entering a store in Hope on Saturday to discover I was the only person in the entire store of both shoppers and staff, wearing a mask.
I asked a staff member if the COVID crisis was over and told him of our experience at Costco and was told that was only in the States.
One gentleman apologized going the wrong way in an aisle, explaining they were not from Hope (also not wearing masks).
I will not shop in a store that does not care enough about their staff and customers to obey the advice of all our health experts to wear masks to avoid spreading the virus.
Beware shoppers in Hope.
