After watching the “fake news” all day, I go to bed swearing that I will never watch the news emanating from the U.S. ever again.
But, after I awake and have my coffee I have to turn on the fake news to see if I had missed something, good or bad. Trump is news while PM Trudeau’s claim to fame, or infamy, is a ride on a friend’s helicopter or giving a few million dollars to a convicted terrorist.
Why doesn’t Justin do something exciting like supporting the pipelines or something else that is controversial?
Our prime minister is well known for his support of protecting the environment and I believe that the majority of Canadians also support this view, but there is a great difference between support and the radical extremists that have no economically acceptable alternative to fossil fuels.
Wind turbines and solar energy are two of the most talked about form of alternative energy, but they are years away from being realistic in a country as huge as Canada, so in the meantime, fossil fuels will be the answer to our needs. A combination of thermal energy and solar panels on every house is another idea, but then again the cost of introducing this to the public would be hard to promote.
We have more oil and gas yet to be developed than we could ever use so we should construct pipelines to transport the natural resource to foreign nations and part of the profits should go into more research for alternative energy. It can be done, but we need a strong government to implement such forward looking visions.
