I feel lucky to live in a giving town

It has been my privilege to put away donations for the food bank

It has been my privilege to put away donations for the food bank, starting with the LDSS students “scare halloween” campaign, followed by a truck load of groceries gathered from the community by Moose Radio station, and then many, many bags and boxes of donations from churches and schools.

Not only has the quantity been amazing, but the quality of the donations as well. As I was putting away the last donations, I was joined by five regular volunteers who bag dry goods twice a month.

Listening to their conversation, I learned that at that very moment hampers were being filled at the mall, an open Christmas dinner was being prepared at the Vineyard Church. While I am sure these are just a few of the many acts of giving happening during this holiday season, I feel very fortunate to be given the chance to live in this giving town.

Merry Christmas to all,

Paula Laurie
