Congratulations to Aura for producing uplifting music in our community for 35 years.
Congratulations to Imant Raminsh, its co-founder, who celebrated his 70th birthday the same evening that the choir presented an enthralling performance of Mozart’s Grand Mass (KV 427) in C Minor to honour both anniversaries!
The combined sound of nearly 80 spectacular voices (augmented by 33 singers from Vivache Chorale), a 25 piece orchestra and four highly accomplished soloists could well have filled London’s Royal Albert Hall rather than Vernon’s Trinity United Church.
Although Trinity’s organ might not compete with that at the Royal Albert, Marjorie Close’s playing was enough to convince otherwise.
Congratulations to her too, on her 27 years as choral accompanist with Aura.
The Okanagan is fortunate to have such musical talent and prowess in its midst. And Trinity’s packed house on April 12 was blessed to have shared it.
As one so favoured, I extend thanks and congratulations.
