As snow falls, snow crews rise to occasion

Writer feels safe in knowledge that Yellowhead and secondary roads are timely plowed and treated.

Editor,

In my capacity as an Anglican Priest, I am often asked, “Can you do something about the weather.”

My standard reply is one of apology: “I’m so sorry. I’m in sales not management.”

Jokes aside, there are those whose responsibility it is to deal with the onset and aftermath of winter storms in Smithers and neighbouring communities. In my view, the management, staff, and road crews of Billabong Road and Bridge Maintenance have risen to the occasion this winter season in splendid fashion.

Snowfall has been significant and sometimes unpredictable across the Highway 16 corridor. As a frequent traveller to Terrace and Hazelton, I feel safe in the knowledge that the Yellowhead Highway and secondary roads are timely plowed and treated. With all sincerity I join with my wife in saying thank-you.
