William Lloyd Turner

William Lloyd Turner of Quesnel passed away July 11, 2007 at G.R. Baker Memorial Hospital.

Services for Bill were held July 17 at Clayton’s Funeral Chapel with Reverend Teri Meyer officiating.

A song was sung by granddaughter Claire, Wishing you were Somehow Here Again, from Phantom of the Opera, and the poem written by daughter Vicki, who passed away in 1976, was read also.

Interment was at Quesnel and District Municipal Cemetery.

Bill was born March 27, 1931 in Kelowna where he also received his schooling.

In a ceremony in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Aug. 12, 1954 Bill married Patricia. The couple have lived in the Quesnel area for 60 years.

Bill worked for Kelly Douglas Company beginning in 1949 until his retirement.

Bill loved his family, friends, dogs, airplanes and his workshop.

He loved flying and his great woodworking skills made him very happy. Between that and his family he lived a very full and rewarding life.

Bill is survived by his wife Patricia, sister Barbara Jones, brothers Dave, George and Howard.

He is also lovingly remembered by his children Kathleen (Harvey), Pat (Leon), sons Harry (Maryanne) and Scott (Edgar); loving grandchildren Stephan, Claire, Jonas, Megan, Luke, Kaitlin, Rachel, Rebecca, William and great grandchildren Freya and Daed.

Bill was predeceased by his daughter Vicki (1959 – 1976), brother Glenn (1967) and his parents Pearle and Lloyd.

Those wishing to honour Bill’s memory by way of donation may do so to the Canadian Cancer Society BC/Yukon Division or their charity of choice.
