It is with deep sadness that the family of Walter Weatherall announce his sudden passing in Gibson’s B.C. on May 23, 2018 at the age of 61, of a medical event and subsequent car accident.
Walter was born in Coaldale Alberta on November, 27th 1956. It was here that he learned to live and love the life of a cowboy, riding horses and making acquaintances with just about anyone who was willing to spend the time to talk with him. His love for his animals, in particular his dogs, were life-long and lasted to the very end.
Walter grew up in Donald & Golden B.C. where he honed his musical talents, learning to play the trumpet and guitar. Through this he became a talented singer, talker and entertainer. His talent at running heavy equipment was sought after by the many contractors who were eager to have him on their job-site. Those who knew him understood his addiction to fast cars which was matched only to his fondness for anything sweet and his fierce loyalty, and knew that he was as stubborn as anyone can possibly be.
Walter is survived by his sons, Russell of Gibsons, B.C., Bob of Vancouver, and Tony (Laurel) of Kamloops, B.C., his mother, Audrey Weatherall of Golden, his brothers and sisters, Leo (Pat) Weatherall, Mickey (Gary) Balas, Keitha (Kelly) Grittner, Susan (Granger) Wilson, Jinny, (Leif) Nilsen, Geoff (Doug) Weatherall, Mary Ann Wilson, Belinda (Tom) Christmas and Nora (James) Christmas. He is a legend to his many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. He was predeceased by his dad, Russell and brother, Russell Jr.
His strong personality was always evident and his memory will forever remain in the hearts and minds of all those who knew him.
