Vera Mosley

In loving memory of Vera our beloved and beautiful mother who passed away on January 3rd, 2010. She was dearly loved by Stanley her husband of 67 years, her six children; daughters Florence (Jim) Tetreau, Susanne (Charles) Salmon, Pat (Jack) Cleveland; sons Ted (Lorna), Jim (Rita), Andy (Melody) and her 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Vera grew up in Cochrane Alberta where she met Stan while they were both working on a big Alberta ranch.  They married in 1942 in Hamilton Ontario during WW Two.  She endured two years of separation when Stan went to war. Vera moved to White Rock to be with Stan’s family and waited with heavy heart for his uncertain return. With unbelievable happiness he did return and they began their lives together.  In 1954 they moved to the Comox Valley where they spent the largest portion of their lives; and where they raised their six children. Vera was a talented artist and painter.  She also loved to garden and those gardens produced hundreds of quarts of fruit and vegetables every year.  Vera worked hard for her family but I am sure she never thought of it as work as it was a rare day growing up that we didn’t hear her singing such songs as “There’s a Bluebird on My Window Sill” and “Red River Valley” with her amazing singing voice. After Stan retired they traveled extensively through Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia. Travel was one of Vera’s dream. All her dreams came true.

It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our wife, mother and grandmother.

A celebration of her life will be held on January 30th at 2pm in Port Coquitlam
