Thomas Alexander Bartlett

Thomas Alexander of White Rock, BC passed away at Peace Arch Hospital on January 4, 2007 at the age of 84 years. Predeceased by his wife Irene in 2002, father Walter, mother Alice, brothers Walter and Wilf and brothers-in-law Alfred and William. Survived and lvingly remembered by his children Colin (Fereshteh), Sandra and John; grandchildren Shidan (Claudia), Christine (Dale) , Vafa and Sean; great grandchildren Megan and Samantha; brother Jim (Sheila) and sister Peggy, sister-in-law Doris and Roses in England; also remembered bymany nieces and nephews in England and Australia. Tom’s two passions in life were music and police work. He served with the Lancashire Regiment, the Palestinian Police Force where he met and married his wife Irene, and the London Metropolitan Police. Immigrating to Canada in 1956, he enlisted in the RCAF and joined the military plice. Following retirement from the Air Force he worked as an investigator for the Royal Bank. His interest in music began early and continued throughout his life. His first love was the saxophone but he enjoyed playing many instruments. Later he expanded into arranging music and conducting orchestras and choirs. He volunteered his musical services to many religious organizations. Tom was very proud of establishing a full orchestra in North Bay, Ontario from 1966 to 1968 while he was stationed there. In his later years he devoted his life to caring for his ailing wife of 56 years, Irene. Tom gave of his time and himself to a number of organizations including Peace Arch Hospital and Kwantlen College. Tom touched many people’s lives. He will be laid to rest with his wife at 1:00 pm on January 12, 2007 at Victory Memorial Park Funeral Cemetery. Rev. Gloria Brough officiating.
