Stanley George DAHL

(April 20, 1938 – Feb. 3, 2009)

Stan Dahl, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle passed away peacefully on Feb. 3, 2009 in Chilliwack, BC.

Stan will be greatly missed and always remembered and loved by his family; wife Marie; son, Ken (Leanne); daughters, Sheila Armstrong, (Barry), Sharon (Graham Dyble), Cheryl Fitzsimmons (Rob), and Shannon Kraft (Thomas); grandchildren: Stephanie, Christopher, Kiel, Shanda, Mike, Schyler, Cody, Allissa, Caitlynn, Kelly, Dylan, Josh, Breanne and Kayla; brother, Ken; sister, Lindsay; and nieces and nephews: Geoffrey, Ken, Tanis, Shea, and Daniel.

Stan is predeceased by his brother Daniel, his parents Stan Sr. and Phyllis Dahl, and his grandson, Jarrett.

Stan was a long time employee of the BC Telephone Co as well as BC Cellular before retiring in the early 1990’s.

After retiring from BC Tel, unable to settle into full retirement, Stan and Marie went south to broaden his career by working in San Jose, CA as software trainer for a software company.

Returning to Canada a few years later, he again changed direction in his career working part time for Johns Electronics and NetSat selling and installing satellite systems where he met many great people and got extreme pleasure from learning about his customers lives. Until his passing he continued to keep in contact with many of these people that he added to his life.

Outside of his family and work he had a passion for photography which he applied to his other areas of his interests – amateur theatre production, Toastmasters and the sport of figure skating. A dedicated volunteer with the Chilliwack Players Guild, the Cheam Skating Club, Skate Canada, Chilliwack Happy Times Jazz Society, the Canadian Cancer Society’s Relay for Life and many more community organizations. Stan’s contributions will be dearly missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, February 9, 2009 at 1:30 PM at Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home located at 45865 Hocking Avenue.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made the Canadian Cancer Society.
