October 11, 1948 – October 4, 2019
Sharon was born in Alert Bay, BC to Bud and Margaret Brown. She grew up on a float house in Echo Bay. Eventually moving to Campbell River in 1964. She started her long career at the Royal Bank adding life long friends to her Grad ’66 gang. Soon after she had her two sons, Dwayne and Dean.
Sharon attended every sporting event her family was in. Enjoyed lunch every Friday with the Lunch Bunch, Hiked every week with the “Crew” and gathered regularly with her ’66 Ladies. She volunteered every Canada day weekend for the carvers. She loved camping in her VW van at upper Campbell, kayaking and reading. But her favourite was traveling the world with Kim Patrick’s groups.
Sharon will be lovingly missed by her sons Dwayne Christensen (Arlana), Dean Christensen (Reegen). Grandchildren: Alyssa, Kennedy, Dylan, Kayla, Gracyn and Austyn. Her sister Lorraine Forberg (Don) and nieces Tammy Forberg (Barry) and Barb Forberg, great nieces Lexy and Brooklyn Bowden. Uncle Bill Proctor, Aunty Joyce Jarman and many cousins.
Sharon passed away from a very brief battle with lung cancer, on her own terms. We are all so proud of this brave woman. The family would like to thank Dr. Coetzee, Dr. Farias and the 3rd floor “D” nurses for their comfort and compassion these last few weeks.
A Celebration of Life will be held on October 26th, 1 pm at the Eagles Hall. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Hospital Foundation.
